Over the years, fiction has given us many powerful and ruthless tyrants, but few can compare to the Koopa King and the Mad Titan. Who will win this clash of titans that is sure to leave the universe in ruins?
MBStarscream: The Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Hiro: If there's anything these characters have in common, it's having a rogues gallery that just won't end. And out of all their villains, none have troubled them more than these two all powerful dictators.
MBStarscream: Bowser, the big bad King of the Koopa Kingdom.
Hiro: And Thanos, the Mad Titan.
MBStarscream: Now before this fight demolishes the universe as we know it, we have to set some ground rules. We will allow a Composite Bowser in the fight besides Paper Bowser and Giga Bowser, which means his feats from the Super Mario Galaxy duology will apply here, and Thanos will not use the Cosmic Cube or the Heart of the Universe against his opponent, only the Infinity Gauntlet.
Hiro: We will also composite Thanos' powers and feats from the Marvel Cinematic Universe along with his capabilities in Marvel's mainstream continuity, so this should go without saying, but Infinity War WILL be spoiled for people who still haven't seen it yet. With that out of the way, I'm Hiro Hamada.
MBStarscream: I'm MBStarscream.
Hiro: And it's our job to examine both warriors' strength, abilities, weapons, and weaknesses to see who would win in a fight.
Hiro: Somehow born into the special circle of the seven Star Children, Bowser grew up on Yoshi's Island, raised by a Magikoopa named Kamek, who would soon become his royal adviser. Despite being one of the seven Star Children destined for greatness, Bowser took the route of a villain and only got nastier as he matured.
MBStarscream: When he reached adulthood, taking over the Mushroom Kingdom and becoming its new ruler was the only thing on his mind, so he enacted a plot to conquer the kingdom by turning its citizens into inanimate objects and capturing Princess Peach so she couldn't use her magic to undo his curse.
Hiro: The Mario Brothers set out to stop Bowser's plan, and, at the end of each world, fought one of Bowser's minions impersonating their leader. In the final world, the real Bowser confronted the Mario Brothers and one epic fight later, the brothers finally defeated Bowser for real by using the axe at the end of the platform, destroying it, dropping the evil king into the lava below, foiling his scheme and rescuing the Princess.
MBStarscream: You would think that would be the end of the story, but had it been that way, we wouldn't have so much to talk about, would we? No, we would not.
Hiro: Let's start off with Bowser's most prominent and consistent ability, appearing in nearly all games he has been featured in: Pyrokinesis. Bowser can breath continuous streams of fire, or shoot blasts or flurries of fireballs at his foes. In some games, like Super Mario World and New Super Mario Bros. U, Bowser can make it "rain" fire blasts, and, in Super Mario 64 and New Super Mario Bros., can also shoot blue fire blasts that can home in on Mario or Luigi. His fire breath is apparently so hot that it is also just as effective underwater as it is on land.
MBStarscream: Over the years, Bowser has displayed countless feats that put him far above the average person, with his raw physical strength being frequently seen as one of his main powers. He can smash through boulders, lift immensely heavy objects with relative ease, and topple enemies numerous times his size. Much like with his fire breath, Bowser prides himself on his strength and frequently incorporates physical attacks into his fighting because of this.
Hiro: Bowser has proven time and time again that he is not taken down very easily by most foes. He can endure a seemingly endless amount of punishment, and somehow always returns from this in one way or another. He has been drenched in lava, electrocuted, blown up, crushed by objects as heavy as his own castle numerous times, fallen hundreds of feet, and even squashed by a Tyrannosaurus Rex in Mario's Time Machine, and has inevitably survived each fate.
MBStarscream: Although his speed is hardy consistent between games, in some of his appearances, Bowser is shown to be a a capable runner and quite agile for his size. In Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, Bowser uses a treadmill placed by Fawful and Midbus to burn off thousands of calories gained by eating incredibly unhealthy food in only a few seconds.
Hiro: Bowser's stamina is almost as limitless as his durability. He rarely ever shows signs of tiring, even when massively expending himself for hours on end. In battle, Bowser never slows down, keeping up with Mario and other enemies like his dark counterpart Dark Bowser blow for blow.
MBStarscream: While not as prolific in the use of it as Kamek, Bowser is well versed in using various forms of Dark Magic against his opponents. He apparently knows spells that can transform people into inanimate objects, as explained in the manual of Super Mario Bros. and has used different magical wands over the years for varying purposes.
Hiro: He can teleport, invoking lightning, fly at will, and an important ability of his is metamorphosis. In Super Mario Bros, he turns Toads into stone blocks, in Mario Party 2, he turns a Koopa troupe into frogs, and finally, in the first Super Mario Galaxy, he turns into a stone ball.
MBStarscream: Bowser also has an extremely strong spiky shell on his back, allowing him to run into his enemies and protect himself from whatever they may try to use against him. He can also transform himself to a giant size to battle his enemies. Most of the time, Bowser is empowered by Kamek or somebody else, but, as seen in Bowser's Inside Story, if Bowser is supercharged with adrenaline, he can temporarily achieve his giant size naturally.
Hiro: Regardless of how he gains it, Bowser's giant form massively increases his strength, durability, and other abilities, to the point where Mario and other characters cannot fight him directly, and must find some other way to defeat him. Grand Stars are also a good way for him to grow himself to immense size.
MBStarscream: Like almost all characters in the Mario franchise, Bowser is an extremely qualified player in numerous sports and physical activities. While not being particularly talented in any activity, he has been shown as a skilled tennis, soccer, hockey and basketball player, golfer, go-kart racer, Olympic athlete, wrestler, and even a professional dancer.
Hiro: And despite his brutal side, Bowser can occasionally be smart like when he cheats Mario with a wooden replica of Peach in Super Mario 3D Land or when he traps Mario with a trap in the ground in Super Mario Odyssey. Plus, he's got plenty of alternate forms going for him when it doesn't seem like he's already menacing enough, with Dry Bowser being one of his more common forms.
MBStarscream: If his flesh is melted, burned off, or otherwise removed, he will be reverted to a skeleton. He can throw an indefinite amount of bones at his enemies, and is incredibly durable. He is immune to all energy and elemental attacks, and can only be incapacitated if hit with a strong enough tremor or physical blow, which will cause him to fall apart. However, he can immediately put himself back together, and can use magic to regenerate his flesh.
Hiro: By using a Super Bell, Bowser accesses his Meowser form, which makes him quicker and capable of climbing up walls. But by far his strongest form that has been shown so far is Dreamy Bowser, the result of Bowser absorbing the power of the Dream Stone.
MBStarscream: Wait, so if he absorbed the power of any of the Infinity Stones, would he get stronger from that too?
Hiro: I think the power of whatever he absorbs has to be from his universe in order for it to work, just as the Infinity Gauntlet needs to be in the Marvel universe in order for Thanos to be able to use it.
MBStarscream: Back on topic, Bowser gains an increase in size, strength, and durability in his Dreamy form, and can also summon a giant hammer out of nowhere, create dreamy versions of his airships and minions, summon piles of meat to heal himself, and divide his fire breath into 3 separate streams.
Hiro: With all his capabilities, you'd think he'd have the Mario Brothers crushed effortlessly and the Mushroom Kingdom in his hands by now. Well, he certainly would if there weren't a few things in the way, like his arrogance and short fuse.
MBStarscream: And sometimes, Bowser's own planning leads to his defeat. In Super Mario Bros, he stood in front of a axe that would cut down the bridge, leading him to his defeat. And when he intelligently used several power ups against Mario in Super Mario 3D World, he stood on a Pow Block that led to his defeat.
Hiro: And is it just us, or does he have a habit of getting possessed a lot? But of course, in the end he is much more than formidable as Mario's arch-nemesis.
Hiro: Conqueror. Nihilist. Extremist. Tyrant. Psychopath. Warlord. These six words all have one thing in common: They cannot describe Marvel's worst nightmare any more accurately. This individual continued to terrorize the entire Marvel universe and beyond up to the modern era from the moment of his debut until his recent death at the hands of a mysterious assailant. His name... is--
MBStarscream: Technically Dione, but Thanos is a much better name for him, so yeah.
Hiro: Anyhow, Thanos was born as one of the last sons of A'Lars and Sui-San as an Eternal of Saturn's moon Titan. Growing up with thick, purple skin and a massive build due to his rare Deviant Syndrome, he was very secluded and kept to himself, being a pacifist and only interacting with his brother Eros. Due to his outcasted nature and awkward physique, Thanos felt rejected by life and starting obsessing over the concepts of nihilism and death.
MBStarscream: Through bionic implants, meditation, and black magic, Thanos quickly rose to become the most powerful of his kind, and with this strength also grew his ambition and lust for conquest. At some point, Thanos stole one of his people's starships and traveled all across the cosmos to recruit soldiers, mercenaries, and malcontents for a private army.
Hiro: As he grew in power and infamy, Thanos eventually encountered the embodiment of Death itself in female form, and found himself so enamored by her that he vowed to kill every living being in the universe in order to prove his love. With his new love, he returned to Titan and conquered it, killing his mother and taking the world as his own. Ever since then, Thanos has been stopping at nothing to increase his power so that he may one day prove himself to Death and join her for eternity.
MBStarscream: And he certainly has the skill to pull it off. By far the strongest and most powerful of all Titanian Eternals, Thanos is a superhuman mutant whose massive, heavy-bodied form was born with the capacity to synthesize cosmic energy for certain personal uses. Thanos has increased his powers through bionic amplification, mystical enhancement, and as a result of being resurrected by Death itself.
Hiro: Possibly Thanos' most dangerous ability is his mind. Thanos' intellect is dedicated to enhancing his own powers and to the annihilation of all life. Thanos is a genius in virtually all known fields of advanced science and has created technology far exceeding contemporary Earth science. He has also shown to quickly adapt to new battle situations, as shown in his fight with the Champion of the Universe, who outclassed him physically and whom he beat by dancing around him, blasting him with energy attacks and tricking him into destroying the planet they fought on.
MBStarscream: Thanos has remarked that, compared to himself, Bruce Banner's intelligence is only great for human standards. Plus, he is monstrously strong. Death has increased his strength beyond their original limits to levels rivaling or surpassing those of the physically strongest Eternals. He has proven capable of fighting Thor even when he had the Power Gem and he can defeat the likes of the Silver Surfer, punch away an attacking Hulk, physically subdue Beta Ray Bill and Ronan the Accuser with ease, as well as casually break apart the latter's universal weapon, and, most impressively, wrestle with the mighty Tyrant, although only by being additionally empowered by an external power source. Thanos can also augment his strength with his cosmic energy when needed.
Hiro: Despite his massive muscular bulk, Thanos is capable of running and moving at speeds greater than the finest human athlete. He can effortlessly outmaneuver and beat the Hulk in close combat within seconds and swiftly pummel Iron Man in his Mark L Armor in close quarters combat.
MBStarscream: Thanos' musculature produces almost no fatigue toxins during physical activity, so he has nearly superhuman stamina in all physical activities. And before his "death", Thanos possessed an impressive degree of resistance to physical injury, even compared to other Eternals. After his resurrection, Death increased his ability to resist injury to a much greater degree and he is nigh invulnerable.
Hiro: He has withstood at point blank range planet-destroying attacks without any harm, blasts from the Silver Surfer unharmed and a battering from an enraged, Power Gem-wielding Thor with nothing but a bloody nose, point-blank blasts from Odin and Galactus and three full screams from Black Bolt, one at point-blank range, without any significant damage. He also survived being subjected to an artificial singularity and being crushed by a massive pillar.
MBStarscream: He was also able to withstand the energy attacks from Scarlet Witch, as well as a powerful lightning blast from Stormbreaker. Notably, he survived a blow to the chest from Stormbreaker even after Thor pushed on the axe to exacerbate the wound, though it did cause him to briefly enter a catatonic state. Thanos himself mocked Thor for failing to target his head, indicating that such a blow is what it would take to kill him.
Hiro: Like all Eternals, Thanos is immortal in the sense that he is immune to all known diseases and infections and is immune to the effects of aging. Thanos was formerly banned by Death itself from entering its realm, rendering him truly immortal. No matter the severity of any injury, Thanos was unable to die and completely recovered. This ban has since been lifted.
MBStarscream: Despite his extraordinary durability, it is possible to injure Thanos. Like all Eternals, however, Thanos is capable of regenerating damaged tissue with much greater speed and efficiency than a human being. His healing powers aren't as developed as those of some Eternals. Some Eternals are capable of regenerating any destroyed tissue. Given the circumstances of his death at the hands of Drax the Destroyer during the Annihilation event, Thanos is unable to regenerate missing organs.
Hiro: Despite his great size, Thanos' agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete. His agility is roughly equal to that of the average Eternal, as he was able to jump high from a piece of debris into the air to dodge Doctor Strange's fiery rays and then land perfectly on his feet without any problems.
MBStarscream: He also possesses incredible superhuman reflexes, as he is able to effortlessly dodge a few blows from Hulk, and then instantly struck him multiple times before Hulk had a chance to respond. Thanos also easily reacted to Loki's swift attempt to kill him, effortlessly choking Loki to death before the latter could react.
Hiro: With just a single hand, Thanos was able to easily grab Gamora before she could strike him with Godslayer, and to even react to the extremely agile Spider-Man's attacks, eventually getting a grip on him and pinning him down, as well as casually react to the highly agile Black Panther's full speed charge with a single hand.
MBStarscream: Thanos has displayed great versatility in the use of his energy projection abilities. He has demonstrated the ability to project pure energy as a concussive force, "magnetic" energy, infrared heat-beams from his eyes, and disruptor beams, unilaterally striking separate targets with his optic blasts as well as use his mental link to his techno-mystical chair to form vastly powerful energy shields, barriers, and force-fields.
Hiro: The exact extent of Thanos' energy projection abilities are unknown, but his blasts have been capable of knocking down the likes of Thor and the Hulk. He was also able to slightly damage Galactus' armor and blast the Devourer of Worlds off his feet. By collaborating with the In-Betweener they together released the latter from his prison created by Master Order and Lord Chaos. It has been speculated that the nature of Thanos' cosmic energy reserve may be quasi-mystical in nature.
MBStarscream: Thanos possesses psionic abilities and has demonstrated the ability to successfully defend himself against psychic assaults from Moondragon and Mantis. He also drove one of the Priests of Pama insane with a gesture, made the Hulk attack his fellow Avengers, and forced Conner Sims to destroy his surroundings.
Hiro: Thanos has demonstrated some ability to manipulate matter on the atomic level, similarly to other Earthborn Eternals. On one occasion, he turned the Skrull, Skragg into stone. He also seems to be at least partially skilled in magic, evidence being him cursing Deadpool to be unable to die.
MBStarscream: After his fight with Star-Lord wielding the Mandalay Gem, Thanos was shown to fly self-propelled. Whether he recently acquired this ability or if he uses technical equipment for it hasn't been revealed yet. Thanos can also teleport himself across unknown distances through his link with his techno-mystical transport chair. When stranded in space with Terraxia, he could neither fly, nor teleport to his rescue, presumably because his chair got destroyed in the struggle before.
Hiro: Although he typically avoids physical combat, Thanos is a highly formidable hand to hand combatant, having been trained in the Arts of War on Titan. He is particularly skillful at using a combination of his physical and energy manipulative abilities during combat. He is also a skilled swordsman, being able to overwhelm a Mjolnir-wielding Silver Surfer. He also has great knowledge of arcane and mystical lore.
MBStarscream: Oh, but that's not enough, cuz he's got the Infinity Gauntlet to add to his already extraordinary physical constitution and raw power. With this baby, Thanos is granted the potential to safely harness the supernatural powers of all the six Infinity Gems should he add them to the Gauntlet. The more gems Thanos inserts into the Gauntlet, the more power he gains and he acquires the gems dominion over the necessary fabrics of existence.
Hiro: With all six Infinity Gems in the Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos gains nearly omnipotent levels of power, with control over all six aspects of existence, making him the most powerful being in all of the universe and wielding such near-limitless levels of power that allows him to do almost anything he desires. His power is so great that even while considerably injured, he still was capable of wiping out half of the universe with a simple snap of his fingers.
MBStarscream: With this level of power, Thanos is almost invincible, to the point that the only way to subdue him is for the gauntlet to be removed, which will take away his power or if a sufficiently powerful being wielding a sufficiently powerful weapon were to surprise Thanos, as Thor wielding the Stormbreaker managed to injure Thanos and Thanos said that Thor may have killed him had he aimed for his head.
Hiro: Combining the Space and Reality Gems, Thanos can manipulate the terrain at such a scale as to pull the surface of Titan itself to force Doctor Strange to him. Combining the Space Gem and Power Gem, Thanos can manipulate and redirect outside energy, absorbing and channeling the explosive power of Iron Man's missiles into a concentrated beam of fire.
MBStarscream: After the Gauntlet was completed and the Gems reached their full potential, Thanos gains the power to induce death on a universal scale at whim, using each of the Gems' control over the fabrics of existence to wipe out half the universe even after he had already been grievously wounded. However, using the Gauntlet at such a weakened state takes a great toll on Thanos, scorching the Gauntlet and his left arm.
Hiro: After inserting the Power Gem into his Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos acquires complete control over the destructive force of the universe. Due to his strong understanding and familiarity with the Gem's powers, he is capable of manipulating its destructive energy for a wide plethora of versatile and dangerous capabilities, with the Gem becoming among his most versatile and often-used in combat methods for its destructive potential.
MBStarscream: Thanos is able to subtly use the energy of the Power Gem as a very effective form of torture by exposing an individual to the energy of the Gem to cause them to tremendous pain and can limit the amount of energy sent into the body of said being to avoid killing them. This is potent enough to cause a fully-empowered Thor excruciating amounts of pain, forcing Loki to cooperate with him.
Hiro: He can combine this with the other Gems to increase the torture's potency, with him thus brutally torturing Nebula with both the Power and Space Gems, electrocuting her with the Gem's energy while painfully ripping apart her cybernetics, all the while casually avoiding exerting too much force and killing her.
MBStarscream: Thanos is able to unleash the Power Gem's destructive energy to charge objects with unstable explosive energy with just a single gesture from the Gauntlet, causing them to overload and violently detonate. This ability proves to be the most commonly used out of all the diverse capabilities of the Power Gem due to its great versatility and combat potential thanks to his ability to control the time and size of the detonation, whether instantly or slowly or how devastating, allowing him to use it with devastating efficiency, as Thanos was able to cause the Gem to slowly overload and detonate the damaged Statesman after retrieving the Space Gem, giving himself time to teleport him and his Children out and later violently and almost instantly detonated a ruined spaceship fragment that was dropped on him by Iron Man.
Hiro: He can even exert so much powerfully destructive energy that he was able to rip apart the surface of Titan's moon with its sheer power. His primary usage of the Gem is to project its explosive energy in many forms of extremely powerful energy attacks, showing much greater raw power and versatility than Ronan's use, that applied incredible amounts of powerful concussive force that are even potentially capable of outright destroying objects with its volatile power or incapacitating and greatly damaging even the most durable of individuals.
MBStarscream: He can directly concentrate the Gem's energy into destructively powerful beams easily strong enough to cleave through rocks, force back a shielded Iron Man and sending him flying with great force and damaging his armor. He was also able to unleash the energy wildly as a shockwave of energy that was easily potent enough to knock out Star-Lord, Drax and Nebula instantaneously despite their great superhuman resilience and displays being able to focus the energy into repulsive waves that were easily potent enough to effortlessly blast away the superhumanly strong and resilient Captain America and Winter Soldier and easily stop Okoye's spear in mid-air before flinging both it and her away, during the Battle of Wakanda.
Hiro: Thanos is also was able to use it as a powerful form of defense by conjuring a very strong force field of energy that is easily powerful enough to block Iron Man's repulsors even when the latter used both of his hands to emit two blasts at once. After the Gauntlet was completed and the Power Gem reached its height of power, it appears that the Power Gem was able to convert the influence of the other Gems into energy to be unleashed upon the whole universe, as when Thanos snapped his fingers to wipe out half the universe, it caused energy to surge from the Gauntlet and cover the whole battlefield of Wakanda and caused ominous rumbling through the universe.
MBStarscream: After inserting the Space Gem into his Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos acquires the gem's complete control over space and due to his full understanding of the Space Gem's powers, is capable of expertly using the gem's dominion over space to achieve a wide plethora of potent and dangerous capabilities. With the Space Gem inserted inside the Gauntlet, the most useful power that Thanos acquires is the power to open gateways to any part of the universe, allowing him to effortlessly teleport himself to anywhere he desires at will. As such, Thanos instantly warped himself to Knowhere, Titan and later Wakanda with ease.
Hiro: He can also take others with him, warping both himself and the Black Order out of the exploding Statesman and later teleported Gamora alongside him to the Sanctuary II and Vormir. In addition to using the portals that he can open with the Space Gem as an instant means of transportation, Thanos can also use it to send attacks from other places, as he did to transport the pieces of Titan's moon that he crushed to use them against his opponents. His control is very precise, capable of using the Gem to selectively control what objects are transported, even removing the impaled Stormbreaker from his chest upon teleporting away.
MBStarscream: Using the Space Gem, Thanos can create powerful and devastating singularities capable of compressing and sucking anything in their path, as he generated powerful compression forces to throw back the fragments of the gateway to the Mirror Dimension sent at him by Doctor Strange in the form of a small but devastating vortex that gathered up everything it's path and sent it flying towards Strange. However, Strange was swiftly capable of transmuting it into a harmless substance.
Hiro: Thanos can expertly use the Space Gem to warp the fabric of space to generate powerful spatial pressure around his surroundings, capable of crushing, pulling and freezing with tremendous force in a manner akin to telekinesis enable him to manipulate and move objects with just a single gesture of the Gauntlet, an ability that proved to be among Thanos' most often used.
MBStarscream: Thanos was able to use the Gem to casually freeze Loki's knife mid-stab in an instant, effortlessly crush the guns on War Machine's armor and ground it, and crush the wings on the Exo-7 Falcon to knock him down. The Space Gem's spatial induced telekinesis is so strong that Thanos was even able to use it to telekinetically pull the shattered fragments of Titan's moon across space to rain down on the attacking Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy during the Battle of Titan.
Hiro: Thanos is even capable of using the Space Gem to phase and unphase objects out of space, rendering them incorporeal and just as easily make them corporeal again,, as he easily made the Hulkbuster, and Banner that was inside it, intangible when he tried to attack Thanos and then rendered it corporeal again to trap him in solid stone.
MBStarscream: Thanos can manipulate the Space Gem's energy reserves to manifest extremely powerful blue force-fields of energy capable of instantly vaporizing the bullets of War Machine's armor, and even blocking the energy of Scarlet Witch. After the Gauntlet was completed and the Space Gem reached its full potential, it appears that the gem allows the influence of the other Gems to reach the whole universe, allowing Thanos to use the power of all Gems to wipe out half the universe.
Hiro: After inserting the Reality Gem into his Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos acquires complete control over reality. His skill in using the Gem is more advanced, capable of skillfully warping reality more powerfully than Malekith's display of the Gem's power over reality, achieving numerous powerful capabilities. Having the Reality Gem also grants Thanos the power to nullify the warping of dimensions, as he was able to prevent himself from being trapped inside the Mirror Dimension by a gateway to said dimension send at him by Doctor Strange.
MBStarscream: Thanos can use the Reality Gem to alter reality to create highly realistic and elaborate physical simulations and illusions of false realities over a wide range of influence, which he did to create a false illusion of himself interrogating the Collector in a completely deserted Knowhere, in order to fool the approaching Guardians of the Galaxy and mask the colony's true status as burning down and utterly ruined.
Hiro: Said illusion was so convincing that the illusion of himself was able to physically interact with the environment, as he was able to be engaged by and even killed by Gamora. He was also able to warp reality around Titan to show Doctor Strange how the planet once was beautiful. With the power of creating illusions, the Reality Gem's granted Thanos to make himself invisible, as upon unveiling the illusion, he initially talked to Gamora unseen before revealing himself.
MBStarscream: Thanos can use the Reality Gem to transmute and warp matter to anything he wants. This allows him to effortlessly transform weapons into harmless substances, as he instantly turned Star-Lord's ammo within his gun into a flock of bubbles before he had a chance to shoot and did the same with Gamora's sword before she attempted to kill herself, transform and manipulate specific parts of the environment to use against his enemies, transmute the pieces of the ship that he destroyed when Iron Man threw it at him into a countless swarm of bats that he sent towards Iron Man, and also spawned a cage of stone pillars to trap Black Widow.
Hiro: The Reality Gem even makes Thanos capable of warping the bodies of a living organism, showing the power to release a ball of the Reality Gem's energy capable of turning his targets into pieces of themselves, as he easily turned Drax into pieces and Mantis into strips, although it is only temporary, as Drax and Mantis eventually returned to their original forms. However, with the Infinity Gauntlet completed and the Reality Gem amplified to its full potential, it became so potent that it can actually destroy the body of others truly by disintegrating them to dust, something which Thanos used to wipe out half the universe with a simple snap of his fingers, with the Reality Gem turning all the victims' bodies to dust.
MBStarscream: The Soul Gem contains a mysterious pocket dimension that contains the soul of Gamora, as she is the one he sacrificed to obtain the Gem, and the dimension would pull Thanos to it. The dimension seems to change to fit the form that Thanos most wanted to see, after wiping out half of all life in the Universe, the sheer energy required to achieve such a feat in his weakened state nearly overwhelmed Thanos, and briefly sent him into a dream state caused by the Soul Gem itself, transporting his mind to a world consisting of a barren, infinite expanse of feet-high water under an orange sky.
Hiro: Within the Soulworld, Thanos saw himself as without the Gauntlet or his injuries sustained from Stormbreaker. Before returning to his senses, he was briefly able to communicate with a reflection of his deceased daughter, Gamora, standing under a Zen-Whoberi gateway in the form of the young child. Gamora takes on an appearance of when Thanos first met and adopted her, telling her of his final fulfillment of his lifelong goal.
MBStarscream: After inserting the Time Gem into his Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos acquires complete control over time, allowing him to control time itself by manifesting mystical green runes of energy surrounding the user's arm and wrist before finally conjuring a green, circular mandala made of energy in the palm of his hand. He was able to be far more capable and familiar in using the Time Gem's powers than Doctor Strange.
Hiro: Thanos is capable of rewinding time to recreate certain events with a surpassing amount of finesse, enough so as to truly recreate destroyed objects, even those of great power, while resurrecting beings and keeping some from being affected, as he was able to recreate the events where Vision died, so as to resurrect Vision and recreate the Mind Gem, even after Scarlet Witch had destroyed both of them, while preventing his foes from getting rewinded so as to prevent them from making an attempt to stop him, whereas Doctor Strange could not truly recreate the stolen pages of the Book of Cagliostro.
MBStarscream: So yeah, he doesn't have his reputation for nothing, but you're in luck, cuz there a few weaknesses this Mad Titan has.
Hiro: Thanos often undermines his worthiness and power in combat. This appears like he underestimates his opponents, but he is really just doubting himself and leaving openings to exploit. Sometimes, he even surrenders out of self doubt, as one time he simply tripped on purpose and allowed himself to be arrested by ordinary police officers.
MBStarscream: Plus, the Infinity Gauntlet is powerless outside its universe of origin, even if it surpasses any universal being it's faced. His massive ego makes it very easy to trick him, and despite his power; Thanos has been defeated multiple times.
Hiro: But through his actions, Thanos has more than cemented himself as the greatest villain in Marvel history. All should fear the Mad Titan.
Thanos: You have my respect, Stark. When I'm done, half of humanity will still be alive. I hope they remember you.
Mario flips a coin.
Hiro: This battle between god-like beings will shake the city of New York, but who will bathe the starways in their opponent's blood?
MBStarscream: We're in the endgame now, folks. Pray for the universe.
New York City, Earth-616
Today was an average day in New York City. A clear, sunny sky doused the city as typical traffic for the afternoon was bustling. Read: was an average day. Because what was happening right now was the furthest thing from something you saw everyday.
Civilians were now running like hell screaming as a battalion of airships flew over the city, Bullet Bills and cannonballs firing everywhere, destroying everything they hit. Buildings came down, innocent people's lives came to a cruel end, and while all that happened, the only thing a certain someone did was cackle like a classical villain.
His skin was scaly and yellow, and he had a green spiked shell, a red mane, and spiked cuffs. Oh, and he was truly massive in size, standing twice as tall as his puny Koopa Kingdom. This monster was the biggest pain in Mario's neck, Bowser.
As his laughter died down, the Peach-stealer supreme looked at the city as an evil smile twisted his big face while the carnage before him raged on. But unbeknownst to him, something else was happening in another part of the city, which Bowser would find out when something-or rather someone- smashed right through his airship, scaring him out of his skin and bringing his method of transportation to the ground, with the king not being able to do a thing about it.
Now filled with anger, Bowser leaped off his airship and landed feet-first on the pavement. "HEY!" He bellowed wrathfully. "What's the big idea?!" He got his answer when Tony Stark, clad in his red and gold armor, rose to his feet and glared at the Koopa King behind his mask. "You might wanna have that argument with him, buddy."
Now confused, Bowser turned around to look behind him, but all he saw was his airship being lifted into the air by a tall purple-skinned humanoid wearing blue and gold armor of a sort, along with a large golden armored glove with six gems in it. Bowser was too full of shock to react before his own airship was thrown in his direction, striking him and sending the beast through a building's front door, along with Tony. Thanos stepped forward while lifting the Infinity Gauntlet.
"Stay out of my way." He simply said before twisting his arm to the side. Most strangely, the world seemed to turn on its side all on its own, sending Bowser and Tony falling through several more buildings until the world returned to its normal position. Flat on his back, Bowser could see Tony laying flat on his chest, a sight that angered him into grabbing the Avenger and standing upright.
"Buzz off, tin man!" He shouted before tossing Tony at least fifteen feet away. Turning his head, Bowser saw Thanos approaching him slowly. "I don't believe we've met, turtle." He spoke as he walked toward the king. Bowser arrogantly replied with "I'm the guy you should be afraid of, pal. King Bowser's my name, crushing you's gonna be my game! Show me what you got!"
"I should've suspected words so full of overconfidence would come out of your mouth." Thanos said with what almost sounded like disappointment. "But if you really desire to throw your own life away today, do be my guest. Because I can arrange that for you."
Still defiant, Bowser clenched his fists while getting into a menacing stance to show he was ready to fight. "Go ahead and try!"
Without a word, Thanos raised his gauntlet towards the other airships in the sky and clenched his fist. A combination of the Power and Space Gems did its work in shattering every airship to splinters, sending Goombas and Koopa Troopas falling hundreds of feet to earth as their leader watched, aghast. And with a mighty throw, Thanos sent the destroyed ships flying in Bowser's direction. Instead of running for it however, Bowser roared and charged towards Thanos, tackling the surprised Eternal to the ground and assaulting him with his fists, debris raining around the two dastardly totalitarians all the while.
Thanos eventually managed to grab Bowser's left hand, then the other one. Bowser was then forced off of Thanos when the warlord kicked him with both feet, knocking him backward. He snarled at Thanos as the founder of the Black Order got to his feet and matched Bowser's glare with his own stern expression. Not saying anything else, turtle and Titan charged at each other and clashed two powerful punches, sending a shockwave that could be felt throughout the entire city.
While their royal rumble was raging, Tony and three of his fellow Avengers, Captain America, Hulk and Thor, were trying everything they could against the flying airship debris; Tony was destroying them with repulsor blasts, Cap was blocking them with his shield, Hulk was just smashing away and Mjolnir flew all the place, destroying every bit of debris Thor's weapon could find. "Guys, what the hell is this?!" Steve yelled while blocking and dodging debris.
"Less talking, more ensuring innocents don't get hurt or worse!" Tony shouted back while firing more repulsor blasts at pieces of debris. "And I've got a question of my own: You guys have any idea who that big spiky turtle thing guy is?"
"Whatever that beast is," Thor replied as Mjolnir flew back into his hand before he threw it again in another direction, "It doesn't seem to owe allegiance to Thanos anyway." Hulk roared as he caught a piece of timber and crushed it with a firm squeeze. "Hulk smash big spiky turtle AND Thanos!" he shouted before punching away more debris.
"Well it depends on who smashes the other first, big spiky turtle or Thanos." Tony said as a Unibeam erupted from his chest, disintegrating more debris upon impact. "And my money's on the latter."
Thor turned his head to watch the fight while holding up Mjolnir for even more debris to fly into. "Well the turtle isn't doing too bad against the Titan in all fairness."
True to the God of Thunder's words, Bowser was indeed putting up a fight against the Avengers' worst nightmare; at one point he even physically lifted Thanos over his head and threw him into a building. Everyone paused to watch the brawl before them. Inside the building, Thanos scowled before the Time Gem started to glow. Then it was as if someone had pressed the rewind button, because Thanos flew out of the building in slow motion and back into Bowser's arms just before the latter threw him into the building. Taking advantage of Bowser's surprise, Thanos socked the tyrant square in the stomach, then grabbed his throat with his gauntlet-clad hand and punched him in the nose so hard that the arch nemesis of the Mario Brothers was sent flying back and crashing on his back.
"Do you think Mr. Big Spiky Turtle is gonna last for long, though?" Tony questioned from behind Thor. Steve was next to speak up. "And if that thing somehow does beat Thanos, imagine how much worse of a threat we would have."
Hearing his friend's concern visibly made the other three worry about that possibility as well. "Then shouldn't we do something called, uh, oh what is it, um... Oh! Doing something about it?" Tony asked his artificially enhanced teammate. "Well at least one would be dead, right?" Thor spoke. "Now Hulk unsure who to smash first." said Hulk.
Back to Bowser and Thanos, the former of the two let out a mighty blast of fire from his mouth in the hopes of burning his opponent to a crisp, but Thanos used the Space Gem to unphase the flames out of space, rendering them incorporeal and allowing them to go straight through him as if it wasn't even fire at all. So shocked by this Bowser was, no time to react to Thanos' next attack did he have. Thanos teleported behind him and gripped Bowser's tail tightly in one hand. As soon as the spinning started, the memories hit Bowser's brain harder than anything had ever hit him, both in the past and in this fight right now.
It was the Avengers' turn to be shocked when Bowser flew right in their direction.
"LOOK OUT!" Thor boomed before a tremendous uppercut from the Asgardian-Elder God hybrid launched Bowser right into the stratosphere. Thor thrust Mjolnir into the air and a huge bolt of lightning struck Bowser into the ground. He and his teammates then backed away as Thanos teleported seven feet away from his downed enemy and started walking forward. A dark shadow fell over Bowser before Thanos' foot came down on top of him and kept him pinned to the floor.
"This has been a boring game." Thanos said while clenching the Infinity Gauntlet, all six gems glowing brightly. "But this..." Sinister chuckles escaped his throat. "...will put a smile on my face." He was indeed wearing a shit-eating grin now as he raised his gauntlet into the air, ready to deliver what the Avengers could only assume was the finisher, when...
"Well lemme show ya something that always puts a smile on my face!" Bowser bragged before something that was enough to shock even Thanos, not just the Avengers. The ground started to rumble and shake. And surging over them, holding a stunned Thanos in his hand was Bowser. Except he wasn't nearly as tall as he was before.
He was much bigger, nearly dwarfing every building around in the city. The tables had definitely turned, for now it was Bowser whose face was twisted by a smile that the Grinch would've appreciated while Thanos could stare in pure bewilderment. "Who's smiling now, huh?" taunted Bowser. With nothing else to say, he threw Thanos in a way that would make a professional baseball player jealous. The Mad Titan sailed through the air like a football that had been kicked with full force, screaming all the way.
Until he somehow increased his size to Bowser's level as well and landed more safely than he would've if he were still only 6'7 in height, surprising his enemy for a moment before he laughed and put a fist in his palm. "Now we're talkin'!"
But before he and Thanos could do anything else though, Deadpool appeared out of nowhere with a radio. "OOOOOH! Giant fight! Let's add style to this, baby!" He pressed a button on the radio and a familiar soundtrack from a certain divisive superhero film from 2016 began playing from it while Deadpool started dancing comically. "Ooh! Yeah! Man I love this, though that movie doesn't make any sense, but Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL TOTALLY make it worth it! Wahoo! I could dance to this all day!"
With the stage set, Bowser and Thanos charged while unleashing primal roars. When Koopa King and Eternal collided like two runaway freight trains, they engaged in a physical grapple, each pushing against the other WWE-style in an attempt to prove their superiority in the strength department. Unfortunately for Bowser, Thanos ultimately won this bout, pushing him back and was about to force him to the ground at any given moment.
Thanos was so distracted in overpowering his reptilian enemy that he couldn't react to the fireball that caught him dead-on in the face, burning him and forcing him to cover his eyes while shouting in pain. With enough time and breathing room, Bowser roared to the heavens while fireballs shot out of his mouth and into the air. When Thanos' vision cleared, he saw the fireballs ascending while Bowser took some steps backward. Glaring fiercely, Thanos unleashed a blast from the Infinity Gems that destroyed all the fireballs before they could come down on him.
Bringing his attention back to Bowser, Thanos projected another blast just as the leader of the Koopa Troop let out a blast of fire from his mouth, causing the two streams to clash in a beam-o-war. In this deadly game, there could only be one winner; and Bowser lost that contest when Thanos' blast overpowered his fire blast and sent him flying. Picking up a nearby building, Thanos approached Bowser and smashed it on his head just as the latter had gotten on his feet, disorienting him long enough for Thanos to pick him up in a fireman's carry. He stomped up to another building that he dwarfed by about three feet before throwing Bowser down onto it, destroying it completely.
Now the Avengers knew what had to be done about this and what would happen if this kept up; how many lives would be lost. They were obviously child's play compared to the two battling villains, so they could only do one thing.
"Alright, that's it. We're evacuating this city. Come on, guys!" Tony declared before flying off, his three comrades following behind him.
Meanwhile, Bowser weakly rolled onto his stomach as Thanos paced around him, casually grabbed him by his red hair and hoisted him up. With a smile of pure cruelty, Thanos pressed the Infinity Gauntlet to Bowser's left temple as the Power Gem glowed as bright as a lamp. Hoarse screams filled the air as Thanos subjected Bowser to the most unimaginable pain, an act that only he would take pleasure in. Seconds felt like hours. It felt like Hell was actually in Bowser's head at the moment, the agony went that far.
But through the torture, Bowser snarled as he seethed with hatred. Reaching behind his back, he pulled out a familiar stone and ate it. As soon as he did that, he erupted in a colorful light and everything went blank as a sheet.
When the white disappeared, Thanos was restored to normal size and laying face-down on the damage road. Groaning as he pushed himself up, Thanos turned his head to glare at Bowser, but got a surprise when he saw what his adversary looked like now.
While he too was no longer in a giant state, Bowser was still much larger than he normally was, glowed with bright colors reminiscent of those of the Dream Stone, and had objects resembling the Dream Stone on his head and stomach.
Dreamy Bowser had come in.
"BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You have no idea what I can do with this baby, do you?" He boasted with his new power. "Breathe a sigh of relief, because it'll be your last! Know why?! Because this is finally the end! THE END OF YOU!"
Thanos narrowed his eyes. "I'd have you dead by now." He snarled. "So stop wasting my time... and come on!"
"You got it."
Part 2: The Wrath of Dreamy Bowser Edit
This time around, Bowser was the one to start Round 2, spitting a rainbow meteor in Thanos' direction. The Avatar of Death easily countered the attack with a punch from his Infinity Gauntlet-clad fist, obliterating the meteor like it were made of glass. Bowser stubbornly spat more and more meteors, but whether Thanos was punching them to oblivion, making them intangible with the Space Gem or just walking up to the bane of Mario's existence and letting them explode harmlessly against him like missiles that couldn't fail any more miserably to destroy Godzilla, he wasn't going to be fazed any time soon.
Until the furious Koopa King summoned a giant hammer out of nowhere and swung it at speeds too fast for Thanos to react, hitting him right square in the nose and causing him to fly at least 25 feet away from his opponent, crashing to the ground once gravity did its duty in pulling him down to earth. His nose only looking none the prettier, Thanos got to his feet, charged his natural Eternal abilities and fired a powerful beam from his head right as Bowser curled into a spiky ball and started rolling toward the nihilistic demigod.
Incapable of powering through the beam, Bowser was pushed back for what felt like an hour to him until Thanos finally stopped firing. Planting his fist into the ground, Bowser looked up with a face twisted with ire before standing tall and firing three streams of rainbow flames from his maw. Thanos used the gauntlet to shield himself from the flames, but ended up being pushed across the city. Gritting his teeth, he used the Space Gem and teleported away, leaving Bowser surprised and even angrier.
"Now where have you gone?!" He shouted irritably. There was no way he could've known Thanos was floating between Earth and the Moon, unable to take a huge grin off his face as he clenched his Infinity Gauntlet fist.
A certain number of miles away from where the two big bads had originally clashed, the Avengers were still running through New York as whoever they could evacuate followed behind, let it be in vehicles or on foot. Then Tony looked into the sky and gaped behind his helmet.
"Uh, guys?" He spoke nervously. "Whatever you do, don't look at the sky."
Now when telling someone "Don't look up", that gonna make them want to look up. And that's exactly what happened.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!" Steve, Thor, Hulk and the remained survivors all screamed.
"Me and my mouth..." Tony muttered to himself.
Bowser's reaction was no different when he looked up and saw the Moon coming down at speeds that made it seem Superman was pushing it while flying at full speed.
The continent of North America was like a cake in comparison to the fist that the Moon might as well have been; it punched clean through the Earth and left a gaping hole in it. The Moon was then telekinetically dragged back towards the one responsible for what had just happened, and shattered to a million piece upon coming in contact with the Infinity Gauntlet.
Gray particles bigger than asteroids flew all the place, Bowser continuing to scream as he ascended down toward the half-destroyed Earth all the while. He landed right in the middle of the planet's second largest and second most-populous continent, Africa, and hit the savanna ground with enough force to send a mushroom dust cloud into the air, startling a herd of gazelle into stampeding out of there.
Climbing out of the newly formed Bowser-shaped hole, the King of Awesome looked around his new surroundings while his head spun from what the hell just happened. Lifting his head, he could see Thanos floating toward him and landing on his feet about five feet away from his stunned competitor. When he could stand on two feet again, Bowser looked Thanos right in the eyes and said...
"What... the heck... was that?"
The extremist only replied with a laugh. "Just one of the many examples of my far superior power." he boasted. "Seeing how much shock I have filled you with, maybe you finally see how hopeless this fight really is for you?"
After looking at the leader of the Chitauri for another moment, Bowser shook the dust off of himself, pointed a sausage-sized finger at Thanos and loudly proclaimed "Well, guess what, Grimace?! As long as this king is still kickin', no amount of weird, logic-defying power coming from that glove of yours is gonna make him back down for long! If anything, this fight's only just started, buddy! So whaddya say we finish this like men?!"
Thanos' grin got slightly bigger than before, all six Infinity Gems glowing. "I'll enjoy it, indeed."
The fight officially fired back up, Bowser summoned several clones, one of which shoulder-charged into Thanos, dragging him back a few feet, though not successfully knocking him down. Just then, Thanos walked backward into another portal, disappearing. Before Bowser and his clones could realize Thanos reappeared behind them, they were all thrown high into the air.
Seconds later, a purple energy beam from the Power Gem destroyed all the clones and left Bowser to hit the ground fist-first. Just as he had looked up, another Power Gem blast knocked him off his feet and forced him onto his spiky back. Then a huge crack formed underneath and started to open like a elevator's door, forcing him to roll over lest he fall into the center of the earth. Then with a telekinesis-like push, Bowser was forced backward again. Then he was surrounded by a blue hue and pulled right toward Thanos.
Only for a fist to smash right into the psychopathic conqueror's nutsack of a chin. In spite of the blow, Thanos recovered quickly, then tried to retaliate with a punch of his own, only for Bowser to duck under it, jump high into the air and slammed down hard enough to create a shockwave, paralyzing Thanos long enough for the Star Child to summon another giant hammer and knock the wind out of the opposing dictator with a tremendous strike to the gut.
The Dream Stone then flashed, and Bowser grew to gigantic size, lifting his foot and trying to stomp on Thanos' cranium, only for the sole of his foot to be punched by the Infinity Gauntlet, causing the king to lost his balance and fall to the ground. Yet another portal appeared, which Thanos walked into before Bowser could get back up. When he couldn't find Thanos anywhere, a primal roar that came from the sky got his attention and prompted him to look up, allowing him to see Thanos plummeting towards him with the Infinity Gauntlet ready for another attack.
Unfortunately, however, Bowser grabbed him in the air and threw him to the ground with his hand on his neck. "Puny insect!" He taunted before throwing him at a tree, breaking it in two as Thanos hit the grassy floor. As he started to rise, Bowser let loose a rainbow-colored fiery blast from his mouth, but Thanos sucked all the flame into the Infinity Gauntlet with the Power Gem and fired it in a stream at Bowser, hitting him dead on and sending him far away.
While flying through the air, Bowser curled into a spiky ball and came to a dead stop once he hit the ground while rolling, then started moving in Thanos' direction quickly. But Thanos had other plans; he used the Space Gem to make Bowser intangible while walking toward and entering another portal. When Bowser got out of shell form, he let out a confused "Huh?" when he saw absolutely nothing in front of him save for an savanna environment. Then his ears caught a strange sound and he turned 180 degrees to receive a powerful blow from Thanos that knocked him down.
Thanos chuckled as he then used the Time Gem to rewind time to the moment he downed Bowser and punched him in the face this time, sending him pinwheeling, then started beating him with his fists. Bowser attempted to block the blows with his forearms, but Thanos was relentless, picking him up by the head and blasting his midsection with the Power Gem. Bowser landed hard from the blast, struggled to one knee and fired a rainbow fire blast at the inexorable Thanos; the beam was easily deflected by the Infinity Gauntlet.
He got to both feet as he continued firing. Thanos walked right up to him, and backhanded Bowser's head. He crosses his arms to block a blow from Thanos's gauntlet, and had his left hand caught over his head. In desperation, he tried to punch Thanos with his free hand, which was also easily caught. Then with a firm sqeeze, Bowser's wrist produced a disgusting crack, making Bowser scream in agony. Releasing Bowser's crushed wrist, Thanos swung his gauntleted fist upward, hitting Bowser's chin as hard as two trains colliding into one another.
Saliva flew from Bowser's mouth as he flew upward, spun briefly, and crashed to the ground stomach-first. The fight was over. He had clearly been bested in battle, and was now helpless against the fate his superior would subject him to.
"You were a fool to challenge me, inferior being." Thanos said as he moved to stand in front of his defeated opponent, smiling the whole time. "Prepare to meet your doom."
All the confidence and bravado that Bowser demonstrated at the start of the fight had now evaporated like a puddle on a hot summer sidewalk, as shown by his now fearful expression as he looked up as his towering foe.
Thanos raised the Infinity Gauntlet and snapped his fingers.
A flash of white. A strange sound.
When Bowser opened his eyes, Thanos was gone. He looked left and right while breathing heavily, then rolled onto his back to try and stand up again.
The first thing he noticed was that his tail appeared to be covered in ashes.
Just then, his tail turned to bits and flew off with the wind. This effect spread to his legs, and within moments, Bowser couldn't feel his feet anymore; they had disappeared.
"W-What's happening to me?" Bowser said with true fear as he tried to crawl backward with his non-broken arm as his lower body continued to fade away. It only took seconds for his chest to fade away, leaving only his arms and head.
In mid-word, Bowser's head and arms finally dissolved into next to nothing. All that remained were bits of dust that were once King Bowser Koopa.
MBStarscream: Seriously, how many more universes are we gonna fuck up?
Hiro: Bowser certainly had the capacity to push Thanos further than anyone he's ever come into conflict with in the Marvel universe; even with all six Infinity Gems, Thanos indeed had quite the competition at first, especially when Dreamy Bowser entered the game. And yes, I said "at first", because ultimately, Thanos is simply in a class all his own in comparison to Bowser.
MBStarscream: Yeah, he pretty much had Bowser outmatched when it came to... well, just about everything. If he's able to make Thor and Hulk his bitches and lift the 50-quintillion ton Galactus Engine, Bowser would go down just like the rest eventually if he went up against the Mad Titan.
Hiro: Thanos also fights FTL speeds on a regular basis, so anything Bowser would only serve to amuse him more than anything. And if Bowser could even dream of equaling Thanos in terms of durability. Surviving a black hole? That's child's play compared to Thanos tanking hits from Odin, Galactus and the Rot.
MBStarscream: And even with his smarts, he's still an absolute idiot in stark contrast to the genius that is Thanos. Bowser's physical disadvantages were already bad news for him right off the bat, but even if he could give that the finger, Thanos' variety of other powers would cause him even more problems.
Hiro: Thanos could just decide turn him into a pile of dust, or rearrange his body parts with matter manipulation. He could always just teleport Bowser to a less desirable location, too, or even to another dimension. And seeing how many times Bowser has been mind controlled, imagine him taking on that from someone at Thanos' level. There's also eating away at Bowser's life force until there's nothing left, or draining away his power and adding it to Thanos' own.
MBStarscream: His superior manipulation of all different types of energy was another downside for Bowser, even if he resorted to using some of the energy attacks he has under his belt. Thanos also had force fields that nearly as durable as he is, so if Bowser wanted any hope of beating Thanos, he not only had to bypass his insane durability and willpower, but he'd basically have to do it twice.
Hiro: Thanos is also lightyears older than Bowser and has so much experience in combat that to him, him fighting Bowser would be just him fighting Hulk all over again, who was also a simple-minded brute in comparison to a strategic and scientific genius like Thanos. Overall, Thanos had everything going for him throughout this entire fight, and no matter what Bowser used, all it did was prolong the latter's inevitable defeat.
MBStarscream: We're dining on turtle soup tonight, everyone! Man, I'm starvin! Oh wait, that's right. SOMEONE I KNOW thought it'd be nice of him to add DUST as an ingredient! Thanks a lot, Thanos! Not!
Hiro: Thanos wins.
- More durable
- Vastly smarter
- Had the hax to finish the fight before it even began
- Could bypass Bowser's arguable immortality
- Immensely older and more experienced
